Get Gritty Boot Camp Day 1:
Discover Your Signature Strengths

By using your signature strengths every day you can:
-be more confident,
-make greater progress on your goals, and
-have an improved ability to cope with stress
.

Day 1 of the Boot Camp is based on the research of Dr. Martin Seligman, the father of Positive Psychology. In his book Authentic Happiness, Dr. Seligman writes "There are three very different routes to happiness. First the Pleasant Life, consisting in having as many pleasures as possible and having the skills to amplify the pleasures. Second, the Good Life, which consists in knowing what your signature strengths are, and then recrafting your work, love, friendship, leisure and parenting to use those strengths to have more flow in life. Third, the Meaningful Life, which consists of using your signature strengths in the service of something that you believe is larger than you are."

On Day 1 you will discover your signature strengths and how you can use them to connect greater personal meaning with your horsemanship journey to increase your satisfaction and happiness as you reach for your horsemanship goals.

Affirm Your Values

By clarifying and affirming your values you can:
-be more motivated and inspired to take action towards your dreams,
-see the process towards your goals as part of your personal growth journey, and
-feel more fulfilled and happier as you work towards you goals, instead of waiting until you achieve a goal to feel happy.

Day 2 of the Boot Camp is all about clarifying and affirming your values. When you live by your values, it is easier to live authentically and be the real you. Dr. Russ Harris shares in his book, The Confidence Gap, "Value play a major role in developing confidence and enhancing performance. Not only do they provide us with the inspiration and motivation to do what it takes, they also sustain us on the journey; we may be weeks, months or years from completing our goals, but we can live by our values every step of the way, and find ongoing fulfillment in doing so. And even when we don't achieve our goals-and at times, we won't-we can still find satisfaction and fulfillment from living by our values."

Our values apply to everything you do-and that includes your horsemanship too. If your actions in the saddle do not align with your values, then you won't feel fulfilled along your journey. On Day 2, you will clarify and define your values to ensure that your path is aligned with your values, so that you can be happier along your horsemanship (and life!) journey.

Practice Gratitude

By developing a personal gratitude practice you can:
-experience more positive emotions every day,
-improve your personal relationships, and
-become more mentally tough and resilient to challenges.
On Day 3 you will learn how a simple daily gratitude practice that takes just 5 minutes can change your life. By changing your focus from noticing only the negative to seeking the positive, you too can experience the benefits of practicing gratitude!
